Asian Games 2026: India’s Schedule on September 25 Kabaddi Semifinal, 100m Showdown and Major Medal Events

India enters another action-packed day at the Asian Games 2026 on September 25, with athletes competing across athletics, shooting, kabaddi, badminton, squash, table tennis, fencing, swimming, canoe sprint, surfing, boxing, equestrian and weightlifting.
The official schedule lists Indian participation from the early morning onwards, with the biggest action coming later in the day. Among the headline events are the men’s kabaddi semifinal, men’s 100m semifinals, 50m rifle 3P events, women’s shot put and men’s 10,000m final.
All timings below are in IST as per the official schedule.
The day begins before sunrise with Indian surfers in action at Long Beach in Tahara. Sugar Shanti competes in Heat 3 of the women’s shortboard Round 1 at 4:16 AM, followed by Kamali Moorthy in Heat 5 at 5:02 AM. At 6:00 AM, four Indian equestrian athletes Shruti Vora, Gaurav Pundir, Hriday Chheda and Jai Sud compete in the individual dressage qualifier. India’s dressage team, comprising the same four riders, also has its mixed team final listed at the same time.
The morning continues with fencing, badminton and shooting. Dhruv and Tanisha begin their mixed doubles badminton campaign against Maldives at 6:10 AM, while Kamaljeet and Suruchi Inder Singh compete in the mixed team 10m air pistol qualification at 6:15 AM.
At 6:30 AM, India has several important appearances. Manush Shah and Diya Chitale face Hong Kong’s Wong Chun Ting and Doo Hoi Kem in the mixed doubles quarterfinals, while Harmeet Desai and Yashaswini Ghorpade take on China’s Lin Shidong and Man Kuai.
At the same time, Anamika and Pooja resume their heptathlon campaigns in the long jump. Swimming also gets underway early, with Danush Suresh in the men’s 50m breaststroke heats at 6:40 AM, followed by Rishabh Das in the 200m backstroke at 6:58 AM.
India’s three shooters Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Rudrankksh Balasaheb Patil and Niraj Kumar compete in the men’s 50m rifle 3P qualification at 7:15 AM, with a team final also scheduled subject to qualification.
Hockey, Esports and Canoe Sprint
At 7:30 AM, India’s women’s hockey team faces Japan in a Pool B match. The canoe sprint programme also features several Indian entries, while India’s Pokémon Unite team begins its Group C campaign against the Republic of Korea at 7:55 AM. The heptathlon javelin throw for Anamika and Pooja is also scheduled for 7:55 AM.
One of the morning's biggest events comes at 9:30 AM, when India’s women’s kabaddi team plays its semifinal against Nepal. India’s men’s kabaddi semifinal follows at 10:45 AM, with the defending champions scheduled to face Thailand. This will be one of the day's key medal-contending events. Squash also features prominently. Abhay Singh faces Japan’s Ryunosuke Tsukue in the men’s singles quarterfinal at 9:15 AM, while Veer Chotrani takes on Pakistan’s Irfan Muhammad at 10:45 AM.
At 10:00 AM, Indian squash fans are guaranteed a quarterfinalist in the women’s singles as Anahat Singh takes on Tanvi Khanna in an all-Indian quarterfinal. The winner will advance to the semifinal and remain in contention for an Asian Games medal.
Shooting Finals and Team Events
The men’s 50m rifle 3P individual final is scheduled for 10:30 AM, subject to qualification, with all three Indian shooters listed for the potential final. Table tennis continues at 10:30 AM, with Manav Thakkar playing his men's singles Round of 32 match against South Korea’s U Tae Ryong.
The afternoon brings further medal opportunities.
Nirupama Devi competes in the women’s 61kg weightlifting final at 1:30 PM, while swimming finals involving Indian qualifiers could begin from 1:35 PM onwards. Boxer Preeti faces North Korea’s Pang Chol Mi in the women’s 54kg Round of 16 at 2:15 PM.
At 3:00 PM, India’s Harmeet Desai and Yashaswini Ghorpade are scheduled for the mixed doubles table tennis semifinal, subject to qualification.
Sprint Showdown: Animesh and Gurindervir
The evening will belong to athletics. Gurindervir Singh is scheduled to run in Heat 2 of the men's 100m semifinal at 4:11 PM, with Animesh Kujur following in Heat 3 at 4:19 PM.
Both Indians qualified from the heats on September 24, setting up a major sprinting night for India. The athletics programme continues with Sindhushree Ganesha and Baranica Elangovan in the women's pole vault final at 4:33 PM, followed by the heptathlon 800m at 4:41 PM.
At 5:02 PM, Gulveer Singh competes in the men's 10,000m final, while Damneet Singh and Praveen Kumar contest the men's hammer throw final from 5:10 PM. The evening then moves into the 400m events, with Kiran and Prachi in the women's 400m Round 1 at 5:53 PM and 6:01 PM, followed by Vishal Thennarasu Kayalvizhi in the men's 400m at 6:21 PM.
If they qualify, the men's 100m final featuring Animesh Kujur and Gurindervir Singh is scheduled for 6:50 PM.
With multiple potential medal events and major knockout contests spread across the day, September 25 promises to be one of India's busiest days at the Asian Games 2026.
