Asian Games 2026: Roshibina Devi’s Gold Medal Bout, Kabaddi, Shooting and Athletics Headline India’s September 24 Schedule

India faces another packed day at the Asian Games 2026 on September 24, with several medal events, knockout contests and qualification rounds spread across the day.

The biggest moment comes early in the morning when Roshibina Devi takes on China in the women’s 60kg wushu final at 6:10 AM IST, with an Asian Games gold medal at stake. The day also features Indian athletes in rowing, shooting, canoe sprint, swimming, athletics, kabaddi, boxing, squash, table tennis, fencing and other disciplines.

The day begins with the men’s singles sculls final in rowing at 5:10 AM, followed by the men’s doubles sculls final at 5:30 AM. At 6:10 AM, all eyes turn to wushu as Roshibina Devi faces China in the women’s 60kg final. Roshibina has already assured herself of a medal after reaching the final. Following bronze in 2018 and silver in 2023, she now has an opportunity to complete the progression with an Asian Games gold.

Shooting action begins at 6:15 AM, with Akash, Kedling and Kamaljeet competing in the 10m air pistol qualification and team final. At 6:30 AM, Anantjeet Singh and Parinaaz Dhillon compete in the skeet mixed team qualification.

India’s rowing contingent has several important events throughout the morning. The men’s pair Final B takes place at 6:30 AM, followed by the women’s four final at 7:10 AM.

Later, the Indian rowing team competes in the lightweight men’s double sculls final at 12:00 PM, while the men’s quadruple sculls final is scheduled for 1:00 PM. The schedule also includes the lightweight men’s single sculls Final B at 11:20 AM.

Shooting Continues Across the Day

Shooting remains another key discipline for India. The skeet mixed team final, subject to qualification, is scheduled for 11:30 AM. The 10m air pistol individual final, also subject to qualification, is scheduled for 12:15 PM. India will be looking to build on its strong shooting campaign at Aichi-Nagoya, with several athletes already having contributed to the country's medal tally.

The Indian men’s kabaddi team returns to action at 9:45 AM, taking on Chinese Taipei in Group A. India has already secured its place in the semifinals after a strong group-stage campaign and will now complete its group fixtures against Chinese Taipei. The women’s kabaddi team also features on the day, with India taking on Japan in Group A at 4:15 PM.

Both Indian teams are defending their Asian Games titles and have already assured themselves of medals.

Athletics Has a Packed Programme

The athletics schedule begins early with Pooja and Anamika competing in the women’s heptathlon high jump at 7:10 AM. Their heptathlon campaign continues with the women’s shot put at 3:35 PM and the 200m at 5:30 PM. Niharika and Asha compete in the women’s triple jump final at 4:14 PM.

The men’s 100m heats, featuring Animesh and Gurvindervir, are scheduled for 4:38 PM. Later, Seema competes in the women’s 10,000m final at 5:55 PM.

The athletics programme concludes with the 4x400m mixed relay final, subject to qualification, at 6:55 PM.

Indian boxers will also be in action. Sakshi faces Kazakhstan in the women’s 51kg Round of 16 at 2:15 PM, while Parveen takes on Tajikistan in the women’s 65kg Round of 16 at 2:30 PM.

Earlier, Sumit faces Iraq in the men’s 70kg Round of 16 at 10:30 AM. Squash features several Indian players. Anahat Singh takes on Singapore in the women’s singles Round of 16 at 10:30 AM, while Abhay Singh and Veer Chotrani play their respective men’s singles Round of 16 matches at 11:15 AM.

Tanvi Khanna also faces Singapore in the women’s singles Round of 16 at 10:30 AM. In table tennis, Manush Shah takes on Malaysia in the men’s singles Round of 64 at 8:35 AM.

Canoe sprint provides another series of Indian appearances. Megha Pradeep competes in the women’s canoeing 200m semifinal at 6:30 AM, followed by Soniya Devi and Parvathy in the women’s canoeing 500m semifinal at 6:50 AM. The men’s kayak four 500m final is scheduled for 8:10 AM.

Swimming begins with Benedicton Beniston in the men’s 50m butterfly Heat 5 at 6:46 AM. The Indian mixed 4x400m relay team competes at 7:01 AM, followed by Aryan Nehra in the men’s 800m freestyle Final B at 7:21 AM.

The Indian swimming team then features in the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay at 7:32 AM.

From the early-morning rowing finals to Roshibina Devi’s gold-medal bout, and from shooting and canoe sprint to kabaddi and the evening athletics programme, September 24 is another major day for India at Aichi-Nagoya.

The biggest individual focus will be on Roshibina Devi at 6:10 AM IST, while both Indian kabaddi teams continue their title campaigns and several athletes compete in medal events and knockout rounds.

With action spread across the entire day, September 24 promises another significant chapter in India’s Asian Games 2026 campaign.
