Indian table tennis continued its impressive rise on the international stage as the young duo of Divyanshi Bhowmick and Syndrela Das captured the women's doubles title at the WTT Feeder Prishtina 2026 in Kosovo.

The Indian pair defeated Japan's Aoki and Muramatsu in a thrilling five-game final, winning 11-7, 12-14, 14-12, 8-11, 11-7 to secure their second WTT Feeder title of the season. The triumph comes just months after Divyanshi and Syndrela made history by becoming the youngest pair ever to win a senior WTT title when they lifted the WTT Feeder Cappadocia 2026 crown earlier this year.

With another title now added to their growing resume, the partnership is rapidly establishing itself as one of the most exciting doubles combinations in Indian table tennis.

The victory in Prishtina was not merely another title. It was further proof that the success achieved in Cappadocia was no coincidence. Coming into the tournament as one of the seeded pairs, Divyanshi and Syndrela handled the pressure superbly throughout the week. The final against Japanese pair Aoki and Muramatsu proved to be their toughest challenge.

The Indians started strongly, taking the opening game 11-7 and immediately putting their opponents under pressure. However, the Japanese pair responded by edging a closely fought second game 14-12 to level the contest. The third game proved pivotal.

Both teams exchanged points in a tense battle before Divyanshi and Syndrela held their nerve to claim the game 14-12 and move within one game of the title.

Japan once again fought back, winning the fourth game 11-8 and forcing a decider. But when the pressure was at its highest, the Indian teenagers produced some of their best table tennis of the match.

They controlled the fifth game from the outset and sealed the championship with an 11-7 victory.

Dominant Run to the Final

While the final tested their resilience, the Indian pair's journey through the earlier rounds was marked by dominance. Divyanshi and Syndrela opened their campaign with a commanding straight-games victory over Cossio and Sastre. The pair dropped just 16 points across three games, winning 11-5, 11-4, 11-7 to move comfortably into the quarterfinals.

The quarterfinal proved even more one-sided. Facing Georgieva and Persova, the Indians delivered one of their most clinical performances of the tournament, winning 11-5, 11-3, 11-9 without dropping a game. That victory secured a place in the semifinals and reinforced their status as serious title contenders.

The semifinal saw Divyanshi and Syndrela face Vega and Ortega. Rather than showing signs of pressure as the tournament progressed, the Indian duo elevated their level even further. They swept aside their opponents 11-8, 11-5, 11-9 in straight games, securing a place in the championship match without dropping a single game throughout the knockout rounds. The victory highlighted one of the biggest strengths of the partnership consistency.

Both players complement each other exceptionally well, combining aggressive attacking play with strong defensive control.

By the time they reached the final, they had already established themselves as the most dominant pair in the draw.

The title represents another significant step forward for both players. Divyanshi Bhowmick has already enjoyed a remarkable tournament in Prishtina, winning her maiden senior singles title after defeating top seed Yeh Yi-Tian in the final. Adding the doubles title completed a memorable double and showcased her ability to perform across multiple disciplines.

For Syndrela Das, the triumph further strengthens her reputation as one of India's most promising young players. The partnership has developed rapidly over the past year and continues to deliver results against strong international opposition. Their success is particularly encouraging because both players remain in the early stages of their senior careers.

Earlier this year, Divyanshi and Syndrela created history by becoming the youngest pair ever to win a senior WTT title when they captured the WTT Feeder Cappadocia crown. That achievement attracted attention across the Indian table tennis community and raised expectations around the pair. The challenge after a breakthrough victory is often proving that success can be repeated.

By winning another WTT Feeder title in Prishtina, the duo has answered that question emphatically. The second title confirms that they are not merely talented youngsters capable of occasional upsets. They are now becoming consistent contenders on the international circuit.

Indian table tennis has witnessed significant progress in recent years, with a growing number of young players making an impact internationally. The performances of Divyanshi Bhowmick and Syndrela Das represent another positive sign for the future. Winning two senior WTT titles in a single season is an impressive achievement for any partnership, let alone one featuring teenage players still developing their games.

More importantly, their victories have come against experienced international opposition from strong table tennis nations.

As they continue to gain experience and improve their rankings, expectations will naturally rise.

For now, however, Prishtina belongs to Divyanshi Bhowmick and Syndrela Das two of India's brightest young paddlers who continue to prove that the future of Indian table tennis is in very capable hands.
