India continued its impressive start at the U-23 Asian Boxing Championships with four commanding victories on the second day of competition in Jakarta, Indonesia. Displaying excellent footwork and tactical awareness, she controlled the distance effectively while consistently landing accurate scoring punches.
Her disciplined approach prevented the Korean boxer from mounting any sustained attacks, allowing Tanu to dominate the contest from start to finish. The judges unanimously awarded the bout to the Indian by a 5-0 scoreline, extending India's winning streak and adding another positive result to the team's campaign.
Her victory complements the strong performances delivered by India's women boxers on the opening day of the championships, further highlighting the country's strength across both men's and women's categories.
The only disappointment for India on the day came in the men's 60kg division. Sagar Jakhar's bout against Japan's Koichi Nakayama ended in unfortunate circumstances after the Indian was disqualified. The result brought an early end to his campaign, denying India the opportunity to continue its unbeaten run on Day 2. Despite the setback, India's overall performance remained overwhelmingly positive, with four victories from five contests.
The performances over the opening two days indicate that India's boxers have arrived in Jakarta well prepared.
