Rodriguinho Scores Five on First Start as SC Delhi Crush Defenders FC 7-0 in Durand Cup

Lalrinliana Hnamte delivered an excellent long pass that found the winger in stride. After bringing the ball under control with an excellent first touch, Aimen calmly lifted his finish over the advancing goalkeeper to make it 4-0. By halftime, SC Delhi had completely dominated proceedings. Defenders FC struggled to create meaningful attacking opportunities throughout the opening period. Their best chance came deep into first-half stoppage time when captain R.A.C. Madushan's free-kick narrowly missed the target.

To their credit, Defenders FC returned for the second half with improved organisation. The visitors defended more compactly, reducing the space available to SC Delhi's attackers and forcing the hosts into more speculative efforts from distance. Head coach Tomasz Tchórz introduced Juan Sebastian Peña and Mohammed Kaif at halftime, with Peña making an immediate impact.

The Colombian twice tested goalkeeper T.S. Priyashan with powerful efforts from outside the box, but the Sri Lankan shot-stopper responded with two excellent saves to prevent the scoreline from growing further. Defenders also looked more threatening on the counterattack after the interval.

However, SC Delhi's defence remained composed, cutting out dangerous passes before they could develop into genuine scoring opportunities. The visitors finally managed their first shot on target only in the 85th minute when L.C.P.K. Rathnayaka tried his luck from long range, but goalkeeper Nora Fernandes dealt comfortably with the effort.

Although Defenders had slowed SC Delhi's momentum for much of the second half, the closing stages belonged entirely to Rodriguinho. In the 89th minute, the Brazilian collected possession on the edge of the penalty area before curling a superb left-footed effort into the far corner for his fourth goal of the evening.

Three minutes later, substitute Juan Sebastian Peña finally earned his reward after an impressive cameo. The Colombian dribbled past two defenders inside the penalty area before calmly finishing with his left foot to make it 6-0.

There was still time for one final moment of magic.

Deep into stoppage time, Rodriguinho completed his extraordinary five-goal performance with another composed left-footed finish, sealing a stunning 7-0 victory and writing his name into Durand Cup headlines.

The comprehensive win puts SC Delhi in a commanding position in Group C. With two victories from two matches, they now sit atop the standings on six points and are well placed to secure qualification for the knockout stages. More importantly, the performance showcased the attacking depth available to Tomasz Tchórz.
