Roundglass Hockey Academy (RGHA) continues to strengthen its reputation as one of India's premier hockey development centres, with forward Gursewak Singh earning selection in the Indian Junior Men's Hockey Team for the upcoming Belgium Exposure Tour 2026.

The talented striker will be part of the 22-member Indian squad that travels to Belgium from July 5 to 18, where the team will face four of Europe's strongest hockey nations—Austria, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. The tour is expected to play a crucial role in India's preparations for upcoming international competitions, including the FIH Hockey Men's Junior Asia Cup later this year.

For Gursewak, the selection is another significant milestone in a steadily rising career, while for Roundglass Hockey Academy, it serves as further validation of the academy's player development programme.

This is not Gursewak's first experience with the national setup. He received his maiden international call-up in May 2024, when he was selected for India's Junior Men's European Tour featuring matches in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. Following impressive displays during that assignment and continued consistency in domestic hockey, Gursewak was also included in Hockey India's 40-member core probable group for the junior national coaching camps.

Gursewak's selection caps another memorable week for Roundglass Hockey Academy. Just days earlier, the academy's Under-18 team scripted history by becoming the first Indian hockey academy to win a title in Australia, lifting the International Youth Hockey Cup in Sydney. The twin achievements underline the academy's growing influence on Indian hockey.

From producing international players to winning overseas tournaments, Roundglass Hockey Academy continues to establish itself as one of the country's leading centres for elite hockey development.

The Indian Colts will play:

  • Austria – July 7 and July 8

  • Belgium – July 10

  • Germany – July 13

  • Belgium – July 14

  • Netherlands – July 17

Facing four traditional European hockey powers will allow the coaching staff to assess combinations, tactical systems and player adaptability under competitive conditions. The tour also marks the first assignment under newly appointed head coach Frederic Soyez, making it an important opportunity for both players and coaching staff to begin building towards future tournaments.

Exposure tours have become an important part of Hockey India's long-term player development strategy. Regular matches against top European nations help Indian youngsters experience different playing styles, faster game tempo and high-pressure situations that cannot always be replicated through domestic competition.

For players like Gursewak Singh, these matches offer the chance to gain invaluable international experience while competing against some of the best junior players in the world. The performances during this tour could also influence squad selections for the FIH Hockey Men's Junior Asia Cup, one of India's key objectives this season.
