VETO Secures SAFF Championship 2026 Streaming Rights; India vs Pakistan Clash Set for November 5

The subscription-free OTT platform will stream the South Asian football tournament from November 5 to 17, bringing one of the region's biggest football rivalries to Indian viewers.
Indian football fans will have another platform to follow the highly anticipated India-Pakistan rivalry as VETO has secured the streaming rights to the SAFF Championship 2026. The tournament, scheduled from November 5 to 17, will feature six South Asian nations, with India and Pakistan set to meet in their opening fixture on November 5 at 3:00 PM IST.
The announcement adds another international football competition to VETO's expanding live sports portfolio. The platform, which positions itself as a subscription-free and family-first OTT service, will make the tournament available to Indian audiences without requiring a subscription.
The India-Pakistan encounter is expected to be one of the major attractions of the competition. Matches between the neighbouring nations have traditionally generated considerable interest across South Asia, and their meeting in the opening round gives the tournament an immediate headline fixture.
For Indian football followers, the contest offers an opportunity to watch the national side take on a familiar regional rival as the competition gets underway.
The six participating nations have been divided into two groups for the tournament. India, Pakistan and the Maldives form Group A, while Group B comprises Bhutan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
The group-stage format brings together some of South Asia's established footballing nations, with the teams competing for places in the tournament's concluding stages. The championship will culminate with the final on November 17.
India's opening match against Pakistan on November 5 will therefore be an important fixture in Group A, particularly given the attention surrounding the rivalry. The scheduled 3:00 PM IST kick-off also gives Indian viewers an opportunity to follow the contest during the afternoon.
With six teams competing across the tournament, the SAFF Championship provides a regional platform for national teams to measure themselves against familiar opposition and compete for South Asian football honours.
VETO Expands Its Live Sports Portfolio
Securing the SAFF Championship rights represents another step in VETO's efforts to establish a wider presence in India's sports streaming market. The tournament will become part of the platform's Sports Carnival, which brings together more than 300 hours of live sports streaming across cricket, football, weightlifting and tennis.
By adding the SAFF Championship, VETO is extending its football offering while attempting to attract audiences interested in international and regional sporting competitions. The platform's subscription-free model is central to this strategy. Rather than requiring viewers to purchase a subscription to access the tournament, VETO aims to make live sporting content available to Indian households through its OTT ecosystem.
Commenting on the announcement, Ritu Dhawan, Managing Director of VETO, highlighted the role of live sport in bringing audiences together.
"Live sports have the ability to bring audiences together, and fixtures such as India vs Pakistan generate tremendous excitement among fans. With the SAFF Championship 2026 joining our sports portfolio, we aim to bring more international sporting action to Indian households through a subscription-free viewing experience," Dhawan said.
The statement reflects the platform's broader ambition of combining live sports with family-oriented entertainment and regional content.
The Indian OTT market has become increasingly competitive, with platforms investing in sports, entertainment and regional programming to attract viewers. VETO is positioning itself differently through its focus on Connected TV (CTV) and subscription-free access. Its content portfolio includes more than 60 live television channels alongside movies, music, news, sports, podcasts, web series and on-demand programming.
The platform offers content across 12 languages and more than 10 genres, seeking to cater to different viewing preferences within Indian households. The addition of the SAFF Championship strengthens its sports proposition and provides another opportunity to reach audiences who follow Indian football and regional international competitions.
For football fans, the availability of the India-Pakistan fixture on a subscription-free platform could also improve access to a contest that is likely to attract attention beyond regular followers of the sport.
