East Delhi Riders Beat Central Delhi Queens by 19 Runs in DPL 2026 Women’s Leg

East Delhi Riders produced a disciplined all-round performance to defeat Central Delhi Queens by 19 runs in the women’s leg of the Delhi Premier League 2026 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

After posting an imposing 174/2, East Delhi Riders defended their total successfully, restricting Central Delhi Queens to 155/7 in their 20 overs. The victory was built around strong contributions from Pragya Rawat, who remained unbeaten on 70, and Simran Bahadur, whose unbeaten 60 provided the acceleration in the second half of the innings. With the ball, Purva Siwach delivered the decisive spell, finishing with outstanding figures of 4/24.

Central Delhi Queens remained in the contest for long periods, largely due to a brilliant 86 from Deeksha Sharma, but regular wickets and a growing required rate eventually left them short of the target.

Put in to bat, East Delhi Riders made the most of their opportunity and built a strong foundation before accelerating towards the end. Pragya Rawat played the anchor role in the innings, remaining unbeaten on 70 off 55 balls. Her knock included eight boundaries and provided stability as the Riders looked to build towards a competitive total.

Rawat did not need to take unnecessary risks early in the innings. Instead, she held one end together while ensuring the scoreboard continued moving. Vanshika Lila provided valuable support, contributing 30 off 22 balls. Her innings helped East Delhi Riders maintain momentum and set the platform for the stronger finish that followed.

The major acceleration came from Simran Bahadur.

Simran Bahadur played an aggressive unbeaten innings of 60 off just 36 balls, ensuring that East Delhi Riders converted a solid start into a challenging total. Her knock featured seven fours and one six as she found the boundary regularly during the latter stages of the innings. The partnership between Rawat and Simran was particularly important because it combined stability with attacking intent.

While Rawat ensured that East Delhi Riders had a batter capable of batting through the innings, Simran raised the scoring rate and put Central Delhi Queens under pressure. By the end of their 20 overs, East Delhi Riders had reached 174/2, giving their bowlers a strong total to defend. The target of 175 required Central Delhi Queens to maintain a scoring rate of 8.75 runs per over from the start.

Central Delhi Queens began the chase positively. Their top order built a solid platform, and the team crossed the 120-run mark with the chase still alive. For much of the innings, the Queens had enough wickets and momentum to believe they could challenge the target. At the centre of their chase was Deeksha Sharma.

The batter produced a remarkable innings of 86 off 51 balls, striking the ball with authority and finding the boundary regularly. Her innings kept Central Delhi Queens in the contest and ensured that East Delhi Riders could not afford to relax despite defending a substantial total. Deeksha attempted to take responsibility for the chase, but the required rate continued to increase as wickets fell at regular intervals around her.

Monika contributed 14 off 11 balls, while Nidhi Mahto scored 6. Medhavi Bidhuri also added 6, but Central Delhi Queens were unable to find enough substantial partnerships. Riya Kondal was dismissed for 2, while Soni Yadav remained unbeaten on 1, and R Priyadarshini finished unbeaten on 0. The challenge for Central Delhi Queens was not the lack of a standout performance. Deeksha had given them one.

The problem was that East Delhi Riders continued to strike at crucial moments.

The standout bowling performance came from Purva Siwach. She claimed four wickets for 24 runs in her four overs, producing the spell that ultimately changed the direction of the match. With Central Delhi Queens looking to keep pace with the target, Purva’s wickets ensured that the chase could not gather sustained momentum.

Even with Deeksha Sharma producing a brilliant individual innings, the wickets at the other end meant that Central Delhi Queens could not sustain the scoring rate required to chase 175.

They eventually finished on 155/7, falling 19 runs short. For East Delhi Riders, the result was a complete team performance. Pragya Rawat provided the foundation with her unbeaten 70. Simran Bahadur accelerated the innings with an unbeaten 60 and added a wicket with the ball. Purva Siwach then produced the standout bowling spell, taking four wickets for 24 runs.

Central Delhi Queens had Deeksha Sharma’s magnificent 86, but cricket is often decided by contributions across the XI. On this occasion, East Delhi Riders had more of them.
