India continued its impressive run at the Asian U19 Table Tennis Championships in Bangkok, Thailand, with Syndrela Das and Divyanshi Bhowmick producing a series of outstanding performances to keep the country's medal hopes alive.

The duo stormed into the Girls' Doubles final, guaranteeing India at least a silver medal, while Syndrela also booked her place in the Girls' Singles semifinals to assure herself of another podium finish. Adding to the celebrations, Divyanshi Bhowmick and Abhinandh Pradhivadhi advanced to the Mixed Doubles semifinals, ensuring another medal for the Indian contingent. With the Boys' Team also securing a bronze earlier in the competition, India has already guaranteed at least four medals at one of the strongest continental table tennis events in the world.

The biggest highlight of the day came in the U19 Girls' Doubles semifinals, where Syndrela Das and Divyanshi Bhowmick overcame a formidable Chinese pairing of Yao Ruixuan and Jiang Yiyi in a thrilling five-game encounter. The Indian pair held their nerve in the decisive stages to register a 3-2 victory, completing one of the most significant wins of their young careers.

Defeating a Chinese pair at the Asian Championships is always a major achievement given China's long-standing dominance in world table tennis. The victory not only booked India a place in the championship match but also guaranteed either a gold or silver medal, making it one of India's best performances in the girls' doubles event at the continental level.

Throughout the tournament, Syndrela and Divyanshi have displayed excellent chemistry, combining aggressive attacking play with calm decision-making in pressure situations. They will now have an opportunity to compete for the continental title in the final.

Syndrela Das also enjoyed another memorable day in the Girls' Singles competition. Facing Japan's Yuna Ojio, the reigning World Youth Championships bronze medallist, Syndrela produced a remarkable comeback performance to win a gripping seven-game quarterfinal 4-3. The victory secured her place in the semifinals and guaranteed at least a bronze medal, as both losing semifinalists receive podium finishes at the Asian Youth Championships.

Beating one of the world's leading junior players underlines Syndrela's growing reputation as one of India's brightest young table tennis talents. Her ability to maintain composure during a closely contested match against elite opposition reflects the maturity she has developed on the international circuit.

With confidence high after defeating one of the tournament favourites, Syndrela will now aim to extend her run and challenge for the singles title.

India's success was not limited to the girls' events. The U19 Mixed Doubles combination of Divyanshi Bhowmick and Abhinandh Pradhivadhi also produced a commanding performance to secure a place in the semifinals. The Indian duo defeated China's Tang Yiren and Jiang Yiyi in straight games 11-9, 11-6, 11-7, showcasing excellent coordination and tactical discipline throughout the contest. The victory guarantees India at least a bronze medal, as all semifinalists receive podium finishes.

Divyanshi's achievement is particularly noteworthy as she remains in contention for medals in multiple events, underlining her consistency throughout the championship. The Indian pair will now face Thailand's Preechayan and Vijitviriyagul in the semifinals as they look to secure a place in the gold medal match.
