China dominated the men’s 4x100m medley relay final, taking gold in 3:27.89, with Japan claiming silver and South Korea bronze.

India finished eighth, clocking 3:44.26 in the final.

India have booked their place in the men’s badminton semifinal after completing a 3-0 victory over Japan in the quarterfinal.

Ayush Shetty sealed the tie with a 21-10, 21-19 win over Koki Watanabe in the third match.

India will face China or South Korea in the semifinal tomorrow.

India’s Jadumani Singh Mandengbam secured a 5-0 points victory over Nepal’s Chandra Bahadur Thapa in the men’s 55kg preliminaries.

Jadumani now moves into the Round of 16, where he will face the Philippines’ Carlo Paalam on September 26.

Trailing 1-4 against Japan’s Kodai Naraoka in the deciding game, Lakshya absorbed a powerful smash, somehow returned it, then followed it up with another diving retrieval to keep the rally alive.

Naraoka eventually could not keep the shuttle away, allowing Lakshya to finish at the net. Japan lead 4-2 in the early exchanges of the decider.

India’s Hanjabam Langlentombi Devi has scored 9.436 in the Women’s Nandao Final.

Earlier in the day, she recorded 9.403 in the Nanquan event, finishing ninth among 10 competitors.

India have posted 216/3 against Sri Lanka in the women’s cricket gold medal match, recording their third-highest total in WT20Is.

Smriti Mandhana led the way with a brilliant 79 off 45 balls, while Shafali Verma added 48 off 29 and Richa Ghosh smashed 49 off 22.

Pranati Nayak has posted a combined score of 12.916 in the Women’s Vault qualification.

Unnati Hooda went down 16-21, 18-21 to Japan’s Tomoka Miyazaki in the second singles, leaving India 0-2 down in the women’s team quarterfinal.

Unnati had built a seven-point advantage in the second game but was unable to hold on as Miyazaki completed the straight-game victory.

India are now in a must-win situation, with Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand set to take on Yuki Fukushima and Mayu Matsumoto in the opening doubles match.

Aryan Nehra clocked 15:34.71 in the men’s 1500m freestyle Final B, finishing fourth in his section.

Final B is a separate classification from the medal-deciding Final A, so Nehra’s fourth-place finish does not put him in contention for the podium.

Fouaad Mirza is currently sitting 17th in the Eventing Individual Dressage standings with 38.70 penalty points and 61.33%.

Pusarla Venkata Sindhu has taken the first game 23-21 against Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi, but the Japanese shuttler has fought back in the second.
