Sporting Club Delhi beat Inter Kashi 3-0 in the ISL in Pune, with Carlos Fortes, Juan Peña and Rodriguinho scoring for the Phoenixes.

Carlos Fortes strikes early before Juan Peña and Rodriguinho seal the result in Pune, as Sporting Club Delhi deliver a clinical performance to collect all three points.

Sporting Club Delhi produced an impressive performance to defeat Inter Kashi 3-0 in the MG Indian Super League (ISL) at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune on Saturday. An early goal from Carlos Fortes set the tone before Juan Peña and Rodriguinho added second-half strikes to secure a comprehensive victory for the Phoenixes.

SC Delhi took the lead inside the opening six minutes, capitalising on an attacking move involving Rodriguinho. The Brazilian picked out Fortes inside the penalty area, and the forward made no mistake from close range, guiding a left-footed effort into the centre of the goal.

The early breakthrough gave the visitors an advantage, but Inter Kashi responded with attacking intent and looked to find a way back into the contest. Their best opportunities in the first half came from set pieces, with Pratik Chaudhari and Leewan Castanha both threatening with headers.

Chaudhari came particularly close to equalising just before the interval when his header struck the post. It was a significant moment in the contest, as Inter Kashi had created an opportunity to go into the break level but were unable to convert it.

At the other end, SC Delhi continued to pose a threat. Rodriguinho tested goalkeeper Shubham Dhas with an effort from outside the box, while Fortes and Mohammed Aimen also contributed to the visitors' attacking moves. Despite Inter Kashi's attempts to increase the pressure, SC Delhi carried their one-goal advantage into half-time.

Inter Kashi looked to raise their attacking intensity after the restart, creating a series of half chances as they searched for an equaliser. The home side needed to make its pressure count, particularly after missing the opportunity to score through Chaudhari's first-half header.

SC Delhi, however, remained dangerous on the counter-attack. Their ability to threaten in transition meant Inter Kashi could not commit too many players forward without leaving space behind.

Peña had an opportunity to extend the visitors' lead from inside the box but was unable to convert. The miss briefly kept Inter Kashi within reach of a comeback, but the Spanish defender would make amends later in the match.

Peña doubles the advantage in the 74th minute

The decisive second goal arrived in the 74th minute. Manoj Mohammed delivered a cross into the penalty area, where Peña rose to meet it with a header from the centre of the box.

The finish doubled SC Delhi's advantage and gave the visitors greater control of the closing stages. At 2-0, Inter Kashi faced a difficult task, needing two goals to recover while also managing the threat posed by Delhi's forward line.

The goal also underlined SC Delhi's effectiveness in making their attacking opportunities count. After Peña had missed an earlier chance, he delivered when the opportunity came from Manoj Mohammed's cross.

SC Delhi added further gloss to the scoreline in the 88th minute. Rodriguinho, who had played a key role in creating the opening goal, got on the scoresheet himself with a left-footed finish.

The Brazilian's strike completed a 3-0 victory and capped an influential performance. His contribution at both ends of the scoring sequence highlighted his importance to the visitors' attacking play: he created the opportunity for Fortes in the sixth minute before finishing the contest with the third goal.

For Inter Kashi, the defeat will be frustrating given the opportunities they created, particularly in the first half. Chaudhari's header hitting the post was a major missed opportunity, while the home side's second-half pressure did not produce the goal required to change the game's direction.

SC Delhi, meanwhile, will take confidence from a result built on an early breakthrough, effective attacking combinations and the ability to punish their opponents at important moments.

Fortes provided the platform, Peña strengthened the visitors' position and Rodriguinho put the result beyond doubt. The 3-0 scoreline reflected SC Delhi's clinical edge in Pune, as the Phoenixes left with all three points.
