The World Padel League (WPL) has announced the squads for its highly anticipated fourth season, assembling one of the strongest fields ever seen in the competition.

Featuring former World No. 1s, Premier Padel champions, established international stars, and some of the sport's brightest young talents, the league is set to deliver five days of elite competition in Mumbai from August 12 to 16.

Hosted at the Dome, SVP Stadium, Season 4 will feature six franchises battling for the title, with 36 international players representing six different countries. As padel continues to establish itself as one of the fastest-growing sports globally, the World Padel League has emerged as a key platform for introducing the sport to Indian audiences while attracting some of the biggest names on the international circuit.

Licensed and managed by Iconik Sports and Events Ltd., the tournament has rapidly grown into one of the premier franchise-based competitions in world padel.

The numbers behind this year's tournament highlight the quality of the competition. Season 4 will feature three former World No. 1s, more than 10 Premier Padel champions, and 13 players currently ranked among the world's Top 20. With athletes representing six nations, every franchise boasts a blend of experience, star power, and emerging talent. The league has consistently expanded its profile since making its India debut in 2025, and the latest player draft reflects its growing stature on the international padel calendar.

For Indian fans, it represents a rare opportunity to watch many of the world's finest players compete under one roof.

Former World No. 1s Lead the Star Cast

Among the biggest attractions this season are former World No. 1s Paula Josemaria, Marta Ortega, and Argentine legend Carlos Daniel "Sanyo" Gutierrez, all of whom bring extensive experience from the highest level of international padel. Josemaria has established herself as one of the most successful women's players of the modern era, while Ortega remains one of Spain's most accomplished competitors.

Gutierrez, affectionately known as "Sanyo," continues to be one of the sport's most respected names, celebrated for his tactical intelligence and exceptional shot-making. Joining them are several other internationally renowned players, including Beatriz Gonzalez, Juan Tello, Aranzazu Osoro, Jon Sanz, Lucas Campagnolo, and Luciano Capra, all of whom have enjoyed success on the Premier Padel and World Padel Tour circuits.

The combination of experienced champions and rising stars promises a tournament of exceptional quality.

Each of the six franchises has built squads capable of challenging for the title.

Khan Tigers will rely on Lucas Campagnolo alongside Javier Garcia, Raquel Eugenio, Martina Fassio, Inigo Jofre, and Andres Lancha.

Aussie Mavericks Jaguars feature Pol Hernandez, Guille Collado, Alejandra Alonso, Claudia Jensen, Enzo Jensen, and Ignacio Piotto.

Hubtown Panorama Panthers boast one of the strongest rosters with Juan Tello joined by Enrique Goenaga, Ramiro Valenzuela, Eduardo Alonso, Marta Barrera, and Marta Caparros.

Game Changers Lions perhaps possess the most star-studded lineup, featuring Paula Josemaria, Beatriz Gonzalez, Carlos Daniel Gutierrez, Federico Mourino, Teodoro Zapata, and Gonzalo Alfonso.

Vedanta Leopards have assembled Marta Ortega Gallego, Veronica Virseda, Javier Ruiz, Francisco Guerrero, and brothers Miguel and Nuno Deus.

Meanwhile, VB Realty Cheetahs include Jon Sanz, Luciano Capra, Aranzazu Osoro, Jorge Nieto, Julieta Bidahorria, and Jesus Moya.

The even distribution of talent across the six teams suggests fans can expect closely contested ties throughout the tournament.

One of the unique attractions of franchise-based competitions is the opportunity to witness partnerships rarely seen on the professional tour. Several players who typically compete against one another internationally will now find themselves representing the same franchise, while long-standing rivalries will continue in a new team environment. These changing dynamics often produce fascinating tactical battles and add another layer of excitement to the competition.

With players adapting to new teammates over a short period, chemistry and communication could prove just as important as individual ability.

The World Padel League has played a significant role in introducing padel to Indian sports fans. Globally, padel has become one of the fastest-growing participation sports, particularly across Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East. India has also witnessed a steady rise in the number of courts, clubs, and recreational players over the past few years. By bringing elite international professionals to the country, the league provides Indian audiences with the opportunity to experience the sport at its highest level while inspiring greater participation among aspiring players.

The franchise format also makes the competition accessible to newer fans, combining world-class sporting action with entertainment-driven presentation.

Season 4 will be staged at the Dome, SVP Stadium in Mumbai from August 12 to 16, with every franchise aiming to lift the championship trophy. The event is expected to attract large crowds, with tickets already available through BookMyShow. As the World Padel League continues to strengthen its position as one of the sport's leading franchise competitions, this year's edition promises to be its most competitive yet.

With former World No. 1s, Premier Padel champions, internationally recognised stars, and emerging talent all sharing the same stage, Season 4 is poised to deliver world-class padel while further accelerating the sport's growth in India.
