Mirabai Chanu, Rishikanta Singh, Indian boxers, gymnasts and bowlers will be in action on Day 4 of the Commonwealth Games 2026.

The Commonwealth Games 2026 enters its fourth day with India set for one of its busiest schedules of the competition.

Following an encouraging opening three days that produced medals in para powerlifting and several athletes progressing into knockout stages and finals, the Indian contingent will be spread across weightlifting, lawn bowls, artistic gymnastics, boxing and swimming on Sunday.

The biggest attraction of the day will undoubtedly be Olympic silver medallist Mirabai Chanu, who begins her campaign in the women's 48kg weightlifting event. Alongside her, India will also have medal opportunities through Rishikanta Singh, Raja Muthupandi, and the men's artistic gymnastics all-around final.

The country's bowlers will continue their impressive campaign, while three Indian boxers look to move one step closer to the medal rounds.

Here is a detailed look at India's schedule for Day 4.

Indian weightlifting fans will have their eyes firmly fixed on Mirabai Chanu, who competes in the women's 48kg final at 6:45 PM IST. One of India's most decorated athletes, Mirabai enters the Commonwealth Games as one of the favourites for the gold medal. The Olympic silver medallist and former world champion has consistently delivered on the biggest stages throughout her career and will look to add another Commonwealth title to her impressive collection.

Earlier in the day, Rishikanta Singh begins India's medal campaign in the men's 60kg final at 2:15 PM IST. The young weightlifter has steadily emerged as one of India's promising lifters and will be aiming for a strong performance against a highly competitive field. India's final weightlifting event of the day comes late in the evening when Raja Muthupandi competes in the men's 65kg final at 11:15 PM IST.

With three medal events scheduled, weightlifting could prove to be India's most productive sport on Sunday.

India's lawn bowls contingent returns with three important sectional matches. The women's pairing of Rupa Rani Tirkey and Pinki Singh, unbeaten after three consecutive victories, opens the day's action against Namibia's Diana Viljoen and Amanda Steenkamp at 1:00 PM IST. Having already established themselves among the strongest teams in Section B, another victory would significantly strengthen India's hopes of reaching the knockout rounds.

The duo will return to the rink later in the evening for perhaps their toughest group-stage encounter against England's Amy Pharaoh and Sian Honnor at 10:05 PM IST. England currently sits alongside India at the top of the standings, making the contest potentially decisive in determining the group winner.

Meanwhile, Putul Sonowal faces a must-win encounter in the men's singles Section D against Malta's Shaun Parnis at 7:15 PM IST. After suffering his first defeat of the tournament against Malaysia's Izzat Dzulkeple, Sonowal now requires victory to keep his semifinal hopes alive.

India will also be represented in the men's all-around final of artistic gymnastics at 4:30 PM IST. Yogeshwar Singh and Tapan Mohanty will compete across all six apparatus in pursuit of a Commonwealth Games medal. The all-around event rewards consistency across floor exercise, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars and horizontal bar, making it one of the most demanding competitions in artistic gymnastics.

Following Protistha Samanta's qualification for the women's vault final on Saturday, another strong performance from the men's team would continue India's encouraging gymnastics campaign.

Three Indian Boxers Target Quarterfinal Berths

Boxing once again features prominently in India's schedule. The first Indian in action will be Preeti Pawar, who faces Malawi's Deborah Mtenje in the women's 54kg Round of 16 beginning at 10:45 PM IST. An hour later, Jadumani Singh takes on Pakistan's Sumama Rehman in the men's 55kg Round of 16.

The India-Pakistan contest promises to be one of the day's most anticipated bouts, with both boxers chasing a place in the quarterfinals. The final Indian boxer of the evening will be Aditya Pratap Yadav, who meets Uganda's Nuhu Batte in the men's 65kg Round of 16 at 12:45 AM IST. Following Sachin Siwach's victory on Saturday, India's boxing contingent will look to continue its strong start to the Games.

India's men's 4x200m freestyle relay team also returns to action. The quartet of Srihari Nataraj, Aryan Nehra, Aneesh S. Gowda, and Dhakshan Shashikumar will compete in the heats at 4:39 PM IST. The objective will be straightforward—finish among the fastest teams to secure a place in the medal race. Should India qualify, the relay team will return for the final at 1:56 AM IST, where Commonwealth medals will be on offer.

With experienced swimmers such as Srihari Nataraj and Aryan Nehra leading the lineup, India will hope to challenge for a place among the finalists.

Day 4 has the potential to significantly influence India's overall Commonwealth Games campaign. The weightlifting arena presents three medal opportunities, headlined by Mirabai Chanu, whose experience and pedigree make her one of India's strongest medal contenders. In gymnastics, Yogeshwar Singh and Tapan Mohanty will aim to produce consistent performances in one of the toughest events on the programme, while the swimmers seek a place in the relay final.

In lawn bowls, Rupa Rani Tirkey and Pinki Singh have an opportunity to strengthen their unbeaten run against Namibia before facing the biggest challenge of their group campaign against England. Putul Sonowal, meanwhile, enters a virtual knockout match knowing victory is essential to keep his semifinal hopes alive.

The boxing ring also promises plenty of excitement, with Preeti Pawar, Jadumani Singh and Aditya Pratap Yadav all aiming to join Sachin Siwach in the next round.

With medals, knockout qualification and crucial group-stage points all at stake, Sunday promises to be one of India's most important days so far in Glasgow. Strong performances across multiple disciplines could further boost the country's medal tally and provide momentum as the Commonwealth Games move into their decisive phase.
