Durand Cup 2026: Indian Air Force Defeat Defenders FC 2-1 to Stay on Course in Group C

The Indian Air Force Football Team continued their impressive campaign in the 135th IndianOil Durand Cup with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Sri Lankan side Defenders FC in a Group C encounter at the Birsa Munda Football Stadium in Ranchi on Wednesday.

A spectacular first-half strike from Naorem Somananda Singh and an unfortunate own goal by K.D.S. Sankalpa proved enough for the Airmen to collect all three points despite a spirited late fightback from Defenders FC, who reduced the deficit through N.M. Aflal.
