Men's team: The Indian gymnastics men's team stood 7th overall.

Women's team: A 9th-place finish couldn't assure any medal for the women's team.

Men's 6 apparatus finals: No one managed to make it to the finals.

Women's 4 apparatus finals: A little bit of relief for Indian gymnastics enthusiasts as Protistha Samanta qualified for the finals of the vault.

Athletics
  • Total Medals: 177
  • Total Medals Possible: 17

Athletics started on 27 July, and the Indian athletics roster will be looking forward to doing better than the last edition, where we got 1 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze.
Track events: Players to watch out for – Priyanka Goswami, Parul Chaudhary, and Gurindervir Singh.

Field events: Sarvesh Kushare, Tejaswin Shankar, Murali Sreeshankar, Tajinderpal Singh Toor and the sure-shot medal contender Neeraj Chopra

Bowls
  • Total Medals: 12
  • Total Medals Possible: 2

Men's singles: When it was looking like a great chance to medal for Putul Sonowal, he lost his last 2 matches and is now out of contention for the medal.

Men's pair: Navneet/Dinesh might have to push their limits when facing the English pair if they want to make it to the knockouts.

Women's singles: Nayanmonj Saikia will start her campaign from 28 July.

Women's pair: Rupa and Pinki, who were among the 4 to win gold in the last edition, got a heartbreak as they lost the crucial match against the English pair in a tiebreak and are out of the race to medal.

Boxing

  • Total Medals: 42
  • Total Medals Possible: 12

As of 30 July, out of 14 boxers, a total of 10 boxers have secured a medal by making it to the the Semifinals of the tournament.

Judo
  • Total Medals: 42
  • Total Medals Possible: 12

Judo will start from 31st July, and we have 12 judokas featuring in the competition this year, double the number from last edition. With the absence of big names like Tullika Maan and Shushila Likmabam who medalled in the last edition of the Commonwealth Games, we might not get to see multiple medals in judo this year. Still, outside chances of getting a couple of bronzes are possible.

Parapowerlifting
  • Total Medals: 12
  • Total Medals Possible: 1

Para powerlifting men's lightweight: Ashok and Parmjeet couldn't medal, as both finished 4th and 7th, respectively, in the finals.
Para powerlifting women's lightweight: Suman and Jaspreet too had a tough day as they finished 7th and 6th respectively,
Para powerlifting women's heavyweight: Kasthuri Rajamani sadly couldn't finish.

Men's heavyweight: Jhandu Kumar finished 3rd and grabbed the bronze, which was India's first medal in this edition of the Commonwealth Games. However, Sudhir finished at a spirited 6th position.

Swimming
  • Total Medals: 168
  • Total Medals Possible: 0

India sent swimmers in 10 events, but unfortunately we are out of all categories already, with the best finish being 6th rank in the finals of the 4*200m freestyle relay. Much-fancied names like Sajan Prakash and Srihari Natraj are yet to contest in some events, but getting a medal is very difficult given our strength in aquatics.

Cycling
  • Total Medals: 78
  • Total Medals Possible: 7

Given the fact that India is still in its foundation zone of this sport, it will be very tough for any of our cyclists to make it to the podium.

Weightlifting
  • Total Medals: 48
  • Total Medals Possible: 8 (8 won)

Men's category: Rishikanta Singh grabbed the silver medal on the 26th, and later on the same day, Muthupandi Raja also clinched the silver medal, keeping the 100% record of medalling in this year's weightlifting. Ajaya and Lovepreet are still yet to compete in the upcoming days.

Women's category: Mirabai Chanu created history after winning 3 back-to-back gold medals in the last 3 editions. India still has 6 women to participate in the weightlifting, which leaves us with the chance of sweeping medals in all 11 categories that we participated in.
