PV Sindhu, Lakshya Sen and HS Prannoy lead India’s Hylo Open challenge on Wednesday. Check all 12 Indian singles fixtures and match timings.

India will have a packed schedule at the Hylo Open on Wednesday, with 12 Indian shuttlers competing in the Round of 32 across the men’s and women’s singles draws.

Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu, Lakshya Sen and HS Prannoy headline the Indian contingent at the BWF Super 500 tournament, while a group of emerging players will look to secure significant wins against international opposition.

India’s singles challenge comprises eight women and five men, although the supplied fixture list features 12 Indian players in action on Wednesday. The schedule includes an all-Indian women’s singles encounter between Devika Sihag and Malvika Bansod, alongside several matches that will test India’s leading players against higher-ranked opponents.

Sindhu will begin her campaign against Prakriti Bharath, who represents the UAE. The Indian veteran is listed eighth in the world rankings in the supplied draw, compared with Bharath at No. 83, giving Sindhu the higher ranking heading into the contest.

Sindhu’s experience at major international tournaments makes her one of the leading names in India’s campaign. However, the opening round remains an important opportunity to establish rhythm and build momentum in a Super 500 event.

Another Indian women’s singles player, Aakarshi Kashyap, will face Ukraine’s Polina Buhrova in the afternoon. Buhrova is ranked No. 44, while Kashyap is listed at No. 69, making this a challenging first-round assignment for the Indian shuttler.

Unnati Hooda, ranked No. 21, takes on Czechia’s Tereza Svabikova, who is listed at No. 77. Hooda will look to make her ranking advantage count as she attempts to progress to the next round.

All-Indian Clash Between Devika Sihag and Malvika Bansod

One of the day’s most closely watched matches will be the women’s singles contest between Devika Sihag and Malvika Bansod. The encounter guarantees Indian representation in the next round, but it also means one of the two shuttlers will exit the tournament at the opening stage.

Devika is ranked No. 34 in the supplied list, while Malvika is at No. 47. Their meeting offers both players an opportunity to make progress in a competitive international field. India will also have Isharani Baruah and Anmol Kharb in action during the evening. Isharani, ranked No. 39, faces Germany’s Miranda Wilson, ranked No. 100. Anmol, listed at No. 53, will take on Sri Lanka’s Ranithma Liyanage, who is ranked No. 98.

Ashmita Chaliha rounds out the Indian women’s singles fixtures against Bulgaria’s Kaloyana Nalbantova. Ashmita is ranked No. 30, with Nalbantova at No. 38, setting up a contest between players positioned relatively close to each other in the rankings.

Lakshya Sen will face Finland’s Joakim Oldorff in a late-night match. Sen is ranked No. 14 in the supplied draw, while Oldorff is listed at No. 59. The Indian will aim to use his higher ranking and international experience to negotiate the opening round.

HS Prannoy faces one of the more difficult assignments among the Indian men. He will take on France’s Toma Junior Popov, ranked No. 13, while Prannoy is listed at No. 38. Popov’s position in the rankings makes this a significant test for the Indian shuttler.

Tharun Mannepalli will meet Chinese Taipei’s Chi Yu Jen, ranked No. 24, compared with Tharun at No. 54. Kiran George faces Malaysia’s June Wei Cheam in a closer-ranked contest, with Kiran at No. 55 and Cheam at No. 57.

S. Sankar Muthusamy will complete India’s men’s singles schedule against Finland’s Kalle Koljonen. Sankar is ranked No. 86, while Koljonen is listed at No. 67.
