India’s Asian Games on 30 September: Three Archery Golds, Trap Glory and a Packed Medal Day

India produced one of its busiest days of the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026 on Wednesday, combining a remarkable run of gold medals in archery and shooting with confirmed medals in boxing and squash.
The headline came from compound archery, where India completed a clean sweep of the men’s team, women’s team and mixed team gold medals. Neeru Dhanda and Kynan Chenai also delivered gold in the trap mixed team event, giving India four gold medals across shooting and archery.
The day also brought guaranteed medals in boxing and squash, although several other Indian athletes saw their campaigns end in quarterfinals, semifinals or qualification rounds.
Compound archery was the standout discipline for India. The Indian women’s team won gold after defeating South Korea in the semifinal and then overcoming China in the final. The victory continued India’s strong showing in the compound events.
India then added another gold in the compound mixed team event before completing the sweep with victory in the men’s team competition. The men's compound team also defeated South Korea in its semifinal to progress to the gold-medal match, where India went on to claim the title. Three compound team gold medals in one day represented one of India's strongest collective performances of the Games.
The results also reinforced India's depth in a discipline where the country has consistently challenged for major international honours.

India's men's and women's squash teams both advanced to the semifinals, guaranteeing medals in the team events. The women's team defeated Singapore 2-0 in the quarterfinal, with Tanvi Khanna and Anahat Singh winning their respective singles matches. The men's team produced the same scoreline against Kuwait.
