Karan Singh Wins M15 Bali Title, Claims Fourth Career Trophy and Second of 2026

Indian tennis player Karan Singh continued his impressive 2026 campaign by lifting the M15 Bali singles title after defeating New Zealand’s fifth-seeded Isaac Becroft in a closely contested final. 

The fourth-seeded Indian prevailed 7-5, 7-6(3) to secure the biggest moment of his Bali campaign and add another trophy to his growing collection.

Ranked 604th in the ATP rankings, Karan entered the final as the fourth seed and faced Becroft, who was ranked 679th. Despite the difference in ranking, the contest proved to be a tightly fought battle, with neither player able to establish a decisive advantage for long periods.

Karan eventually held his nerve in the crucial moments to take the opening set 7-5 before producing another composed performance in the second-set tie-break. He won the tie-break 7-3 to complete a straight-sets victory and walk away with the M15 Bali crown.

The triumph marks Karan’s fourth career title and his second trophy of 2026, underlining the progress the Indian has made during the season. The Bali victory also adds another important title to his resume as he continues his climb through the professional tennis rankings.

Karan dominates his route to the final

Karan’s title run was built on a highly consistent campaign in Bali. The Indian fourth seed won all four of his matches without dropping a set, defeating three Indonesian opponents before overcoming Japan’s Ryotaro Taguchi in the semifinals. His tournament began against Indonesian qualifier Gunawan Trismuwantara in the opening round. Karan controlled the contest to register a 6-3, 7-5 victory and move into the second round.

The Indian then faced another Indonesian opponent, wildcard Rafalentino Ali Da Costa. Karan produced an even more convincing display, winning 6-3, 6-2 to book his place in the quarterfinals. In the last eight, Karan came up against another Indonesian wildcard, Nathan Anthony Barki. He continued his dominant run by defeating Barki 6-1, 6-4, setting up a semifinal meeting with seventh seed Ryotaro Taguchi.

Taguchi challenge overcome in semifinals

The semifinal represented Karan’s first major test against a seeded opponent in the latter stages of the tournament. He entered the match with his head-to-head record against Taguchi tied at 1-1, meaning the contest offered the Japanese player an opportunity to take the lead in their rivalry.

Instead, Karan produced a commanding performance. The Indian broke down Taguchi’s challenge with a 6-3, 6-3 victory, advancing to the final in straight sets. The win not only put Karan into the title clash but also gave him a 2-1 lead in their head-to-head record.

With the semifinal victory secured, Karan had one final hurdle between himself and his second title of the year: Becroft.

The final against the New Zealander was significantly more competitive than Karan’s previous matches. Both players battled for control of the rallies, with the opening set remaining closely contested before Karan managed to edge ahead. The fourth seed held his composure at the business end of the set and eventually secured it 7-5.

Becroft responded in the second set and refused to allow Karan to run away with the contest. The New Zealander stayed with the Indian throughout, forcing the set into a tie-break and keeping his hopes of extending the match alive. Karan, however, delivered when it mattered most. He took control of the tie-break and closed it out 7-3, completing a 7-5, 7-6(3) victory.

The result gave Karan his fourth career title and his second of the 2026 season. More importantly, the Bali triumph came after a week in which he consistently handled pressure, defeated opponents from three different countries and finished the tournament without losing a set.
