Kia India Becomes Principal Partner of All Eight Tennis Premier League Teams in Multi-Year Deal

Kia India has significantly strengthened its commitment to Indian tennis by announcing a multi-year partnership as the Principal Partner of all eight franchise teams in the Tennis Premier League (TPL).
The announcement builds on Kia India's earlier association with the league, unveiled in May, and marks one of the most comprehensive commercial partnerships in Indian tennis. As part of the expanded collaboration, Kia India branding will feature prominently on the front of the jerseys of all eight franchises while the partnership will also focus on grassroots development through a nationwide junior tennis initiative.
Beyond enhancing the commercial profile of the league, the partnership aims to create a sustainable pathway for aspiring tennis players by combining professional competition with structured grassroots programmes.
Under the agreement, the Kia India logo will be displayed on the front of the jerseys of every franchise competing in the upcoming Tennis Premier League season. The eight teams covered under the partnership are:
Gurgaon Grand Slammers
Lucknow Blazers
Hyderabad Strikers
GS Delhi Aces
Gujarat Panthers
Kolkata Thunder Blades
Mumbai Royals
Rajasthan Rangers
With a single brand becoming the principal partner across every franchise, the league will have a unified commercial identity while strengthening Kia India's visibility among tennis fans across the country. The collaboration reflects Kia India's growing investment in Indian sport, extending beyond traditional sponsorship to support the long-term development of the tennis ecosystem.
Grassroots Development at the Heart of the Partnership
One of the standout features of the agreement is a nationwide grassroots initiative aimed at nurturing the next generation of Indian tennis players. Each of the eight Tennis Premier League franchises will organise a free two-day tennis camp in its respective city for junior players between the ages of 10 and 18 years. Collectively, the initiative will deliver 16 days of structured grassroots tennis development across eight cities, providing hundreds of young players with an opportunity to learn from experienced professionals.
The camps will offer a holistic training programme rather than focusing solely on on-court skills.
Participants will receive guidance from leading tennis coaches alongside sessions conducted by sports nutritionists, physiotherapists and sports psychologists, exposing young athletes to the complete support system required for high-performance sport. The initiative aligns with the shared objective of Kia India and the Tennis Premier League to identify promising talent at an early stage and provide aspiring players with access to quality coaching and sports science expertise.
The Tennis Premier League has steadily grown into one of India's leading franchise-based tennis competitions since its inception. Over seven successful seasons, the league has expanded beyond professional matches to include talent identification programmes, grassroots competitions and digital engagement initiatives designed to increase tennis participation across the country. Kia India's decision to partner with every franchise further strengthens that vision by providing additional commercial stability while enabling greater investment in developmental programmes.
League organisers believe the partnership will not only enhance team identity and fan engagement but also leave a lasting legacy through initiatives aimed at producing future champions. With grassroots development becoming an increasingly important focus in Indian sport, such collaborations between corporate partners and sporting leagues are expected to play a significant role in expanding participation and creating stronger athlete pathways.
The Tennis Premier League is conducted under the auspices of the All India Tennis Association (AITA) and affiliated state associations. The league also enjoys the backing of some of India's biggest sporting and entertainment personalities. Former Grand Slam champions Leander Paes and Sania Mirza continue to play key roles in promoting the competition, while actors Sonali Bendre Behl and Rakul Preet Singh have also supported the league's growth and outreach initiatives.
Alongside its franchise competition, the Tennis Premier League has introduced several long-term developmental programmes, including nationwide grassroots tournaments and the Race to Gold Scholarship, which aims to identify and nurture talented young players capable of competing at the international level.
These initiatives form part of the league's broader ambition of building a complete tennis ecosystem rather than operating solely as a professional competition.
The expanded Tennis Premier League partnership is another example of Kia India's increasing involvement in Indian sports and community development. Since establishing its manufacturing facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, the company has become one of India's leading automobile manufacturers, producing vehicles for both domestic and international markets.
Operating under its global brand philosophy, "Movement that Inspires," Kia has consistently positioned itself as a company that supports innovation, mobility and youth development.
Its association with the Tennis Premier League reflects those values by investing in opportunities that extend beyond branding and sponsorship. By combining franchise visibility with grassroots coaching programmes, Kia India is contributing towards creating a stronger pipeline of young tennis players while supporting the continued growth of one of India's fastest-growing professional sports leagues.
As preparations continue for the next edition of the Tennis Premier League, the expanded partnership promises to strengthen both the commercial and developmental foundations of Indian tennis, ensuring that investment reaches not only elite competition but also the grassroots where the sport's future champions will emerge.
