Yuki Bhambri and Ryan Seggerman won the Almaty Open ATP 250 doubles title, beating top seeds Miedler and Oberleitner 7-6(3), 6-7(1), 10-2.

The Indian doubles specialist and American partner Ryan Seggerman defeated top seeds Lucas Miedler and Neil Oberleitner 7-6(3), 6-7(1), 10-2 to secure the ATP 250 title in Almaty.

Yuki Bhambri ended his wait for an ATP Tour title in 2026 by winning the men’s doubles crown at the Almaty Open alongside American Ryan Seggerman. The Indo-American pair produced a decisive performance in the match tie-break to defeat top seeds Lucas Miedler and Neil Oberleitner of Austria 7-6(3), 6-7(1), 10-2 in the final.

The victory gave Bhambri his fifth career ATP Tour doubles title and his first trophy of the 2026 season. It also marked his first title in partnership with Seggerman, with the fourth-seeded combination overcoming the tournament favourites in a final that required three sets to separate the teams.

The result adds another ATP Tour title to the Indian player’s collection and continues his progress as one of India’s leading representatives in men’s doubles.

The final began with a closely contested opening set, as neither pair managed to establish a decisive advantage. Bhambri and Seggerman held their composure in the tie-break, where they raised their level to take the opener 7-6(3).

Miedler and Oberleitner, the top seeds, responded in the second set. The Austrian combination again took the contest into a tie-break and this time dominated the crucial points, winning it 7-1 to level the match at one set apiece.

With the title to be decided by a match tie-break, the contest moved into a short but high-pressure finish. Bhambri and Seggerman took control from the outset, leaving little room for the Austrian pair to recover. Their 10-2 win in the deciding tie-break sealed the championship after a demanding battle across the first two sets.

The scoreline underlined the importance of the final phase. After splitting two closely fought sets, the Indian-American duo delivered their strongest stretch of the match when the trophy was on the line. For Bhambri, the victory was another demonstration of his ability to compete in high-stakes doubles matches. The pair’s response after losing the second-set tie-break was particularly significant, as they converted the deciding stage into a one-sided finish.

Fifth ATP Tour title for Bhambri

The Almaty triumph takes Bhambri’s career tally to five ATP Tour doubles titles. According to the figures provided, his collection now includes four ATP 250 titles and one ATP 500 title. The latest victory is also his first ATP Tour title of 2026, giving the Indian a significant result as the season progresses. Winning alongside a new partner adds another dimension to the achievement, with Bhambri and Seggerman securing the title in their first championship-winning partnership.

Bhambri has established himself as India’s leading men’s doubles player, and results at ATP Tour level remain important markers of his standing in the international game. The Almaty title provides a tangible reward for his work on the tour and adds to India’s presence in the sport’s top-tier doubles competitions.

The tournament also highlighted the competitiveness of the doubles draw. The fourth seeds had to overcome the top-ranked pairing in the final, and the opening two sets offered little separation between the teams before the match tie-break settled the contest.

The Almaty Open title is a notable achievement for Indian tennis, with Bhambri adding another ATP Tour trophy to the country’s doubles record. His success also reinforces the importance of doubles as a route for Indian players to make an impact on the international circuit.

The final was decided by the narrowest of margins in the first two sets, but Bhambri and Seggerman’s 10-2 advantage in the deciding tie-break ensured they finished the job emphatically. Their ability to reset after the second-set loss proved decisive.

For Seggerman, the victory marked a title-winning partnership with Bhambri. For the Indian, it ended the wait for his first ATP Tour trophy of the year and brought his career tally to five.

The Almaty Open crown is therefore more than a single tournament result for Bhambri. It represents a return to the winner’s circle in 2026, another milestone in his doubles career and a successful week capped by a commanding performance when the championship was at stake.
