Asmitha Chahilha created history as she won her maiden title on World Tour circuit as she defeated 4th seeded Han Qian of China in three games during the grand finale of the Super 300 Korea Masters played at Asan, South Korea on 9th August 2026. 

Asmitha began the initial stages of first game on a positive note with 4-0 lead before Han fought back strongly keeping the Indian under serious trouble. Han took a slender 11-10 lead at the mid-game break. After the interval, the Chinese maintained the momentum, keeping Ashmita under serious threat and not allowing her any chances. Han won the first game comfortably with a 21-14 scoreline. 

The second game was a closely fought affair, as both players took alternate points, not giving them any inch. Chahilha upped her game to put the Chinese under serious trouble. At the mid-game break, the Indian took a 11-8 lead. After the interval, Ashmita maintained her domination not allowing any chances for her opponent to win the second game comfortably by 21-14. 

Both players started the 3rd game on equal footing, taking alternate points before Han fought back strongly with aggressive shots, keeping the Indian under serious trouble. At the mid-game break, Han took a slender 11-9 lead. After the break, Ashmita fought back to take 2 points in succession to level the scores at 11-11. The Indian showed domination putting Han under serious trouble with smashes and drop shots keeping the momentum going. 

Ashmita won her maiden title with a mistake by Han hitting the shuttle out. It was an impressive performance by the young Indian winning the third and deciding game by 21-14 to win an historic Super 300 Korea Masters. 

It was a remarkable performance by Ashmita to make a strong comeback in this grand finale. After losing the first game, the young Indian showed courage and spirit to win next two games comfortably winning the title. 

Back-To-Back Super 300 Titles For Indian shuttlers 

Ashmita Chahilha became the 2nd Indian shuttler to win back-to-back Super 300 titles in 2026. Ashmita had a dream of winning the Super 300 Korea Masters winning all their matches. She produced some lovely badminton in the entire Super 300 Korea Masters. Ashmita started her tournament with a straight game win over R Hiramoto with 22-20, 21-18 scoreline. She then defeated Kim M-j of South Korea in two straight games with a 21-17, 21-6 scoreline. Ashmita produced some lovely badminton with attacking shots in the 2nd game not giving any sniff to her opponent. 

Ashmita then registered her career best win stunning the top seed Hina Akechi of Japan in three games. The Indian lost a closely fought affair by 20-22 before she showed fighting spirit during the 2nd game with dominating 21-15 scoreline.  The third and deciding game was a closely fought affair as Ashmita took a 18-12 lead before Hina fought back strongly. The Indian held her nerves to win deciding game by 21-19 to move into the semi-finals. Ashmita produce another superb performance defeating Indian counterpart Santosh Ramraj in three games. Chahilha won the first game comfortably by 21-13 before Ramraj won the 2nd game with 21-16 scoreline.

Ashmita then produced a stunning performance in the deciding game, keeping Ramraj on the back foot, winning with 21-13 scoreline to enter the grand finale of this prestigious tournament. 

Journey of Other Indian Shuttlers in Super 300 Korea Masters 

It was a disappointing outing for the men's singles section as Kidambi Srikanth, Raunak Chauhan, Kiran George, S Dayanand & Mithun Manjunath lost in the first round itself.

Tanvi Sharma had an impressive outing in the Super 300 Korea Masters. She won her first round match against Yuan AQ with 21-16, 21-15 scoreline. Tanvi won against Valishetty in the pre-quarters and lost to Ramraj in the quarters. She defeated Shreyanshi Valishetty with 21-16, 17-21, 21-13 scoreline of the round of 16 match. Tanvi lost to Ramraj with 21-18, 19-21, 18-21 scoreline. Santosh Ramraj played lovely badminton knocked out in the semi-finals against Ashmita Chahila. Ishrani Burah & Anmol Kharb lost in the 2nd round. 

Tanvi Sharma performance in Taipei Open 2026 

Tanvi Sharma performance in the Super 300 Taipei was brilliant becoming the youngster ever to win this prestigious title.  Tanvi showed her domination right throughout the tournament. Tanvi won her first round against Tasnim Mir with 21-16, 22-20. She then defeated Wiryawan of Indonesia in two straight games with 21-17, 22-20 scoreline. Tanvi then stunned the fourth seeded Kathenong of Thailand in three games with 21-15, 18-21, 21-14 scoreline to move into the SF. 

The 17-year-old youngster then got past Huang Yu Hsun of Chinese Taipei in two straight games with 21-17, 21-11 scoreline to move into the finals. Tanvi then produced another dominating in the finals with straight game win over Ngyuen of Vietnam registering 21-16, 21-16 scoreline.
