Macau Open 2026: Indian Shuttlers Participation And Day 1 Results.

The first day of the Super 300 Macau Open 2026 saw Raunak Chahuan making into the main draw while four including three women’s doubles and one men’s doubles knocked out of first round played on 16^th June 2026. 

In the men’s singles section, Tharun Mannepalli will face R Sanjeevani in the first round. Kiran George would take on RD Richardo of Indonesia.  S Subramanian will take on Huang P-h of Chinese Taipei in the first round. A total of 3 Indian male shuttlers would take part in this tournament. Tharun Mannepalli or R Sanjeevani would qualify for the second round.  Shreyanshi Valishetty will take on Tasnim Mir in all India first round match. Valishetty is 7^th seeded in this tournament. Akarshi Kashyap would take on Kim M-j of South Korea in the first round. 

S Lele will face fourth seeded Han QX of China. It will be a tough ask for Lele to defeat Han. M Singh would take on pre-qualifier Lee S-y of South Korea.  The 8^th seeded Anmol Kharb will face MA Puspitsairi of Indonesia in the first round. It promises to be a closely fought contest between these promising players.  Santosh Ramraj will take on K Selvaduray of Malaysia in the first round. 

Asmitha Chaliha will face sixth seeded Tung C-t of Chinese Taipei in the 1^st round. Ishrani Burah would take on qualifier 2. The qualifying rounds will be played from tomorrow.

The men’s doubles section will see BR Arigela/VT Gobburu take on Boon XY and Lwi SH of Malaysia in the first round. Only 1 doubles player would feature in the Super 300 Macau Open tournament.  Ashwini Bhatt and Shikha Gautam will face the number 1 seeded AC Pratiwi/SF Ramadhanti of Indonesia in the first round. It would be a tough challenge for the Indian pairing to defeat the number 1 seed. P Konjenbgam and S Mishra will face the number 2^nd seeded Ong XY and C Ting of Malaysia in the first round. It would be a tough challenge for the Indian pairing.

The mixed doubles section will see M and L Jaglan take on Low HC/Chan WT of Malaysia in the first round. I Bhatnagar and S Mishra would face C Devereux/D Toepfer of Germany. D Rawat and K Maneesha will face qualifier 2 in the 1^st round. The opponent will be decided tomorrow. R Mohankumar and Ramaswamy will face off fourth seeded Zhu YU and Li Q of China. 

SR Kanapuram/R Sharma would take on S Jomkoh/O Jongsathapornparn of Thailand in the 1^st round. 

Day 1 Summary of Macau Open 2026 

Raunak Chahuhan made it into the main draw as he defeated Huang of Chinese Taipei in two straight games. It was a dominating performance by the youngster winning with 21-18, 21-16 scoreline.  Chauhan put on a spirited performance to defeat H Htut in three thrilling games. It was a great performance by the youngster losing the first game by 14-21. He showed great fighting spirit in the 2^nd game winning with 21-15 scoreline. Both players were involved in a tight contest fighting for each point before Chauhan led 19-17 before Htut retired hurt. 

He will face another qualifier Wu Z-y of Chinese Taipei in the first round tomorrow. Chauhan produced the magic winning both of their matches.

P Konjenbgam and S Mishra went down fighting to 2^nd seeded Ong XY/C Ting of Malaysia. It was a very close fight in the first game with the Indian pairing winning by 22-20. Ong and Ting won the next two games easily by 21-16, 21-12. 

BR Arigela/VT Gobburu lost to Boon XY and Lwi SH of Malaysia in two straight games by 16-21, 12-21.
