Asmitha Chahilha produced a stunning effort to defeat Min Sun of South Korea in two straight games. It was closely fought first game as both players showed class keeping pressure on each other. Asmitha looked impressive keeping Min under pressure. At the mid-game break, Sun had a slender 11-10 lead. After the break, Asmitha put on dominant display keeping the South Korean under pressure winning points in succession to win first game by 21-16.
The second game saw Min started with a bang putting Asmitha under serious pressure with lovely shots. Min looked sharp with her shots making life tough for the Indian. At the mid-game break, South Korean had a commanding 11-5 lead. After the interval, Min continued to put pressure on Asmitha with attacking shots and making sure that wins with a comfortable scoreline.

She delivered the goods to take points in succession winning the second game by 21-18 to enter the semi-finals of the 2026 Macau Open. She will now face Park Ga Eun of South Korea.
It was curtains for Anmol Kharb as she lost to Han QX of China in three games. Kharb showed intent right from the word go in the first game putting the Chinese under serious pressure. Kharb looked sharp keeping opponent struggling. At the mid-game break, Kharb had a commanding 11-6 lead. After the interval, it was one-way traffic as the young Indian shuttler kept Han under serious pressure to win the first game comfortably by 21-16.
The second game started with both players taking alternate points before Han put on a dominating display keeping Kharb under pressure with her attacking shots. Kharb looked out of sorts as Han maintained consistent pressure making life tough. At the mid-game break, Han took a 11-6 lead.
After the interval, the Chinese continued her domination over Kharb keeping the momentum going. Anmol put on spirited performance to reduce scoreline, but Han showed her class to win the 2nd game comfortably by 21-15.
The third game began with both players taking alternate points till 5-5 before Han put on an aggressive style of play keeping Kharb under serious pressure. Han upped her style of play to take 6 points in succession to lead with 11-5 scoreline. After the interval, it was one-way traffic as Han maintained the lead and made sure that she won with ease by 21-13.
Kharb looked out of sorts in the last two games after a great start to the first game. The Indian committed lots of unforced errors which made life tough for her.
On the other hand, Asmitha showed great fighting spirit after a great start to the first game. The 26-year-old Indian shuttler showed courage in the 2nd game and winning with ease to move into the semi-finals of Macau Open 2026.
Anmol Kharb journey in 2026 Macau Open
It was an impressive performance by Kharb in the Super 300 Macau Open 2026. Kharb started her campaign with straight game win over Puspitsairi of Indonesia with 21-13, 21-16 scoreline. Kharb showed her domination keeping the Indonesian under pressure winning the match comfortably.
Kharb produced a dominating display in the 2nd round. She looked in ominous touch right from the word go against Goh Jin Wei of Malaysia. Kharb played attacking badminton with 12-4 before her opponent retired hurt.
The quarterfinals stage was a closely fought affair against Han. Kharb began the first game on a positive note with attacking shots winning the first game by 21-16. In the next two games, Kharb looked out of sorts losing with comfortable margins.
Kharb made an impression with some lovely badminton but crumbled under pressure. She would learn from her mistakes and move ahead with major badminton tournaments coming ahead.
Asmitha Chahilha impressive performance
The stylish left-handed Asmitha Chahilha is the only Indian left who reached the semi-finals. She has been impressive with her stroke play keeping the opponents under pressure.
Asmitha began the journey with straight game win over 6th seeded Tung C-t. The Indian shuttler put on a dominating display keeping Tung pressure with 21-14 in the 1st game. Asmitha had commanding 11-6 lead in the 2nd game before Tung retired hurt due to an injury.
The second match saw Asmitha struggled with lots of mistakes, but it was superb performance to win against Ishika Jaiswal of USA. The Indian struggled in the first game before winning it by 22-20. Asmitha produces a dominating display during second game to win with 21-15 scoreline to move into quarterfinals.
Asmitha made an impression in the quarterfinals winning against Kim Min Sun of South Korea. After dominating first game with 21-16 scoreline, Asmitha showed fighting spirit to win second game by 21-18 to move into SF. Asmitha would be looking to continue her impressive performance against Park Ga Eun of South Korea in the semi-finals.
