India's Pukhraj Singh Gill continued his steady rise on the Asian Development Tour (ADT) after recording a tied-19th finish at the Ever Glory ADT Open in Taipei.

The AM Green Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL) star carded three consecutive rounds of three-under 69 to finish at nine-under-par 204, strengthening his bid to secure a coveted place on the 2027 Asian Tour.

Gill, who won the AM Green IGPL Order of Merit in 2025 while representing Honer Homes Gurugram, has focused this season on earning promotion through the Asian Development Tour. His latest performance has moved him to sixth in the ADT Order of Merit, placing him firmly inside the qualification zone with the top 10 players at the end of the season earning Asian Tour cards.

With several events still remaining on the calendar, the Ludhiana golfer has positioned himself strongly to follow the pathway successfully taken by fellow Indian and AM Green IGPL player Karandeep Kochhar, who graduated to the Asian Tour through the ADT last season.

Gill's performance in Taipei was built on remarkable consistency rather than a single standout round. He opened the tournament with a three-under 69 before replicating the exact score in both the second and third rounds. His total of nine-under 204 reflected disciplined golf across all three days, with steady ball striking, controlled course management, and the ability to avoid costly mistakes.

While he narrowly missed out on a higher finish in a tightly packed leaderboard, the result delivered valuable Order of Merit points that could prove crucial as the race for Asian Tour qualification enters its final stages.

For a player focused on long-term progression rather than isolated tournament results, another solid finish represents an important step forward.

The Asian Development Tour serves as the official feeder circuit to the Asian Tour, offering emerging professionals the opportunity to compete against international fields while earning promotion based on season-long performances. Currently sitting sixth in the Order of Merit, Gill is well placed to achieve that objective.

Only the top 10 players at the conclusion of the ADT season receive full playing rights on the Asian Tour, making consistency throughout the year more valuable than occasional top finishes.

Gill's ability to regularly finish inside the top 20 has kept him firmly in contention, and another strong finish in upcoming tournaments could move him even closer to securing his Asian Tour card. His journey also highlights the growing role of the AM Green Indian Golf Premier League in providing Indian golfers with a competitive platform before stepping onto the international stage.

India enjoyed a productive week overall in Taipei, with Khalin Joshi producing the country's best finish. Joshi carded rounds of 68, 67 and 69 to finish tied-12th at 12-under-par, narrowly missing out on a place inside the top 10 after another consistent performance. Meanwhile, young Indian golfer Kartik Singh was unable to progress beyond the halfway stage after rounds of 74 and 68 left him outside the 36-hole cut line.

The performances by Gill and Joshi nevertheless underlined the growing depth of Indian golf on the Asian Development Tour, with multiple players regularly competing for high finishes.

The Ever Glory ADT Open was reduced from its scheduled 72-hole format to 54 holes after tournament officials decided to cancel the final round due to the approach of Typhoon Bavi. Weather forecasts predicted severe conditions from Friday evening through Saturday, prompting the Tournament Committee to conclude the event after three rounds to ensure player safety and complete the championship fairly.

Because of the shortened format, a playoff was immediately conducted after regulation play to determine the winner.

American golfer Nathan Han emerged victorious after birdieing the first playoff hole to defeat the Philippines' Sean Ramos. Han finished regulation play tied at 16-under-par alongside Ramos and South Korea's Minhyeok Yang following a brilliant final-round 65. The American's closing round featured an eagle on the par-five eighth hole along with five birdies, allowing him to erase the deficit and force the playoff.

Yang also produced one of the rounds of the day with a seven-under 65 that included nine birdies. However, a costly double bogey on the 15th hole prevented him from taking sole possession of the lead.

Ramos remained in contention throughout the day, carding a composed five-under 67 highlighted by birdies on the third, 11th, 13th, 15th and 16th holes before eventually finishing runner-up after the playoff.

Chinese Taipei's Shapiyate Mako and Chan Shih-chang shared fourth place at 15-under-par after impressive closing rounds of 66 and 68 respectively.

For Pukhraj Singh Gill, the Ever Glory ADT Open represents another significant milestone in what has been an encouraging international campaign. The former AM Green IGPL Order of Merit champion has adapted well to the challenges of the Asian Development Tour and continues to accumulate the points needed to earn promotion.

With his position inside the top 10 currently secure, Gill's objective over the remainder of the season will be to maintain his consistency and convert strong performances into even higher finishes.

Should he achieve that, the Ludhiana golfer could soon join a growing list of Indian professionals competing regularly on the Asian Tour, further highlighting the effectiveness of India's domestic development pathway in preparing players for international success.
