Asian Games 2026: Anantjeet Singh Naruka, Mairaj Ahmad Khan and Bhavtegh Singh Gill Win Men’s Skeet Bronze

India added another shooting medal to its growing tally at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026, with Anantjeet Singh Naruka, Mairaj Ahmad Khan and Bhavtegh Singh Gill combining to win bronze in the men’s skeet team event.

The Indian trio produced a combined total of 346 hits out of 375, finishing third behind Qatar and Kuwait. Qatar claimed the gold medal with 353 hits, while Kuwait secured silver with 348. India finished just two hits behind Kuwait, making the bronze-medal result a closely fought team battle.

The medal also marked India’s second medal in skeet events at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. Anantjeet Singh Naruka was India's highest scorer in the team competition, registering 119 hits, with an additional +17 as recorded in the results. Naruka finished fifth individually, producing the strongest performance among the three Indian shooters. His score also proved significant beyond the team event, as Naruka advanced to the individual men's skeet final, giving India another opportunity to challenge for a medal in the discipline.

His qualification ensured that the Indian campaign in skeet would continue beyond the team podium finish.

Veteran shooter Mairaj Ahmad Khan contributed 116 hits, finishing 12th individually. Mairaj's experience proved valuable as India remained within touching distance of Kuwait throughout the team competition. The Indian trio ultimately finished with 346 hits, two behind Kuwait's 348. Qatar established a more substantial lead at the top with 353 hits to take gold.

Bhavtegh Singh Gill completed the Indian team with 111 hits, finishing 29th individually. While Naruka produced India's highest individual score and Mairaj added 116, Bhavtegh's contribution helped India reach the combined 346-hit mark required to secure the bronze medal. The team format placed importance on every successful target, and the combined performance was enough to put India on the podium despite the narrow gap to Kuwait.

Qatar Take Gold, Kuwait Win Silver

The medal standings reflected the tight contest for the lower podium positions. Qatar emerged as the clear winners with 353 hits, finishing five hits ahead of Kuwait.

Kuwait's 348 hits earned the silver medal, while India's 346 secured bronze. The two-hit difference between India and Kuwait underlined just how close the contest was. Every hit mattered as the teams battled for the final podium positions.

For India, the result adds another medal to what has been a strong shooting campaign at the Asian Games.

Second Skeet Medal for India

The men's team bronze represents India's second medal in skeet at Aichi-Nagoya 2026, adding further significance to the performance. Indian shooting has already been one of the country's major medal contributors at the Games, and the skeet team result provides another example of India's depth across shotgun disciplines.

The individual final also provides an opportunity to build on the momentum created by the team medal.

For Mairaj and Bhavtegh, the bronze marks the conclusion of their team campaign, while Naruka moves forward with another medal opportunity.
